Referees
RUSC is committed to providing our teams with quality refereeing. This is accomplished by providing a training program for RUSC referees prior to the start of each season. The referees are monitored throughout the season by the Referee-in-Chief (Head Referee).
RUSC offers the following Referee and Assistant Referee Pay Scales
Are you interested in becoming a referee? If the answer is "Yes", then you have these choices:
- Mini-Soccer Referee
You must be 12 or 13 years of age on or before March 31st of the year in which you want to take the course. Participants of the course will become certified Ontario Soccer Association Mini Soccer Referees, and will be qualified to referee U4 - U11 soccer games. These referees will not be certified to referee or act as the assistant referee on any 11 v 11 games at any level until they reach the age of 14. - Youth Referee
You must be 14 on or before March 31st of the year in which you want to take the training course and register in an Entry Level Referee Clinic. You must pass the Entry Level Referee exam at the end of the course. - District Referee
You must be 16 years of age on or before March 31st of the current year and must register in an Entry Level Referee Clinic or if already passed the Entry Level Referee course you will automatically become District Referee on your 16th birthday. - Regional Referee
Referees must be an active District Referee over the age of 18 for a minimum of 2 years with the OSA in order to apply to the Regional Upgrade Program.
